Trauma, Suicide Risk Awareness & Prevention
Daninger assists agencies in taking critically important steps to help officers cope with the psychological stresses of law enforcement. The work of law enforcement exposes officers to high-stress, danger, grave responsibility, physical exertion and taxation. Officers enjoy the adulation and heroism inherent in such important work, but they must often come face-to-face with the underbelly of the human experience including serious conflict, violence, misery and death. Otherwise healthy and functional officers can undergo abnormal adaptation due to such occupational and environmental stress and trauma. Serious psychological maladies often result from police work including depression, PTSD, and suicide.
